Australian Masters Champions 2014

BRD claimed the Australian Masters Dragon Boat Title for the 2nd consecutive year, to add to our Australian Club Champions titles from previous years. Inaugural Australian Dragon Boat Federation Masters Champions 2013

Brisbane River Dragons Dragon Boat and Outrigger Canoe Club have once again become Australian Champions. BRD/QUT Regatta 2012

Another highly successful corporate regatta run by BRD, this time for QUT. With ten (10) teams competing, we saw close racing throughout the day – with the STAE team, ranked one going into the grand final, just pipping Epic Stokes (ranked four), by a mere 0.3 seconds.  The feedback from QUT was excellent, and they are looking at running more days in the future, and we had over 25 enquiries re membership. Shanghai Success for BRD

News from beautiful, sunny Shanghai. Teams from Canberra, Newcastle, U.S. and our favourites the Philippines, plus many more from China and Taiwan were entered into this regatta. Sanctuary Cove 2012

BRD particiapated today in the 7km Sanctuary Cove Prostate Cancer fundraiser event  with a mixture of MBT and BRD sports paddlers.  A strong tail wind and helpful tide made the 7km go really fast with a time around 32min. BRD Girls Win Gold Coast Cup

Saturday 14th April the gruelling Gold Coast Cup OC Change Over Race was held with our Open Women’s Crew  coming in first to take the Gold Medal - awesome job girls!!! BRD - 2012 Australian Club Crew Champions

Day Four of Nationals saw BRD get into all six finals in the 200m 20's, and medal in five of the finals! An awesome result. This in turn, meant BRD accumulated enough points to bring home the Australian Club Crew Champions trophy. That's four in the last five years. What a club. Nationals Updates - Triple Gold!!!

Last update Wednesday, 6.40pm Day three saw BRD power to 3 Golds and 2 silver. BRD dominated the 2000m events winning Masters Open and Women, by 24 sec and 10 secs respectively. Premier Women were the stand out crew of the day, winning Gold by a solid 7 secs. Our second Premier Women's crew finished 9th out of 15 teams, an excellent effort. States 2012 Gold Rush

BRD continued their dominance of the Queensland State Championships, medalling across the board.  The final medal count for BRD was 13 gold, 2 silvers and 3 bronze from 18 events. Lite n' Easy Corporate Regatta

On Sunday 4 March, 2012, BRD hosted an Outrigger Corporate regatta for Lite n' Easy. The day started early with collection and transportation of tents and gear from Colmslie to Hamilton plus ferrying the canoes across the river. Westcott 120 for the Heart Foundation

On the 3rd and 4th of September Erica Hamp will be completing the Westcott 120 with Lisa Curry to raise money for the Heart Foundation. The Westcott 120 is a 120km iron two day Outrigger paddle. What a beautiful winters day it was for the first regatta of the season up at Tin Can Bay. MBT and BRD both had teams entered and both got into the two (2) team grand finals. BRD Queen St Mall Promotion

In the Queen St Mall at 6.30am on Friday morning Skins and his team were setting up a couple of boats for an assault on Brisbane workers and visitors throughout the day.They'd already run out of flyers by just after 9.30am and had to do an emergency print run at the local Officeworks.Throughout the day we reckon we spoke to in excess of 1,500 people, handed out just under 600 flyers and the BRD brand was exposed to more than 50,000 people passing... Ryoko’s Drumstick

I would like to let you know that I have my OWN drum stick now, which is clearly labelled, 'COCOPOPS' on it. When I drummed 2000m in Canberra, a long drum stick string which is attached to the side of the drum, became a big problem. It got in a way when strokes reached their paddles out so much. "Ryoko!! It was a busy day for many BRD paddlers today as they swapped BRD colours for Queensland race tops. State Titles 2011

A State Titles regatta with a difference - not much backing up for most - which was almost surreal for a lot of BRD paddlers.BRD maintained their place as the club to beat in nearly all categories, winning eight (8) out of the twelve (12) events we competed in, with seconds in the other four (4).  Our Grand Masters Mixed no. 2 team also managed to secure bronze in the two (2) events they participated in.Probably the sweetest victory was the Prem... Manly Regatta

A solid training regatta over the weekend, where most people raced in 6- 12 500m races, then a nice solid 2000m hit out to finish off with.According to Ewen, we're well positioned for our assault on States and Nationals, just need to lift our overall fitness level.Certainly, the Premiers division is going to be the toughest this year, with TeWaka perfroming strongly in Open, Womens and Mixed - winning all three races. Coomera Regatta

Scott and Kylie have been organising volunteer support activities on the Southside, call Scott on 0428 919 485 if you can help. OC1/2 National Titles – Coffs Harbour

We received many many compliments about our fantastic raffle prize hampers over the weekend. So thank you to everyone who donated items. State of Affairs @ Panpacs, November 2010

Out of fourteen events participated in, State of Affairs (made up predominantly of BRD, MBT, paddlers from Melbourne Flames and Arafura in the Northern Territory, and ladies from Lanakila on the Gold Coast), managed to secure ten (10) out of the fourteen (14) gold on offer. BRD score eleven (11) medals at Worlds

Day One saw a supremely powerful dsiplay, Masters Women blew their competitors off the course with a massive 21 second victory in the 2000m race today in Macau. A wonderful start, and they just kept getting better and better with each stroke, powering past all in front of them. BRD win third consecutive National Title

Brisbane River Dragons (BRD), Australia’s premier Dragon Boating club, has managed to secure an unprecedented 3rd consecutive Australian Dragon Boat Australian Club Crew Championship at the National titles held in Adelaide from the 23rd to the 25th April, 2010.
