OC Paddlers Swim Test and Huli Drill

THE PLAN

Date: Saturday 18 February 2012

Time: 7.30am

Location: "The Swamp", Panamuna Outrigger Canoe Club, Outrigger Park on the northern tip of Kawana Island between Mooloolah River and Parrearra Channel. Access is from Brisbane Road south bound from Mooloolaba, turn left into Outrigger Park immediately after the Mooloolah River (Mackenzies) bridge and before the Parrearra Channel bridge.

Preparation: In the lead up, the club's mirage will need to be loaded onto the trailer and taken to Panamuna Shorncliffe so the club's new (second hand) Force Five can also be put on the trailer. This step can be done at any time over the next couple of weeks and the trailer can be left outside of Panamuna Shorncliffe ready to be towed up the coast on Saturday 18 February. 

On the day, someone needs to tow the trailer (from Shorncliffe) to The Swamp where both canoes are to be rigged and covers put on. Another person/s will be required to transport 18 PFDs and 6 bailers.

The session: Huli practice and the swim test will be done in the bay. An ocean paddle will be offered with time remaining.

Cost: $5.00 to cover towing costs plus petrol for support boat.
