Another Nationals campaign has been fought hard with some exciting performances and results achieved both at club and State v State level. BRD is returning home with 19 medals overall......6 Gold, 6 Silver and 7 Bronze.
Once again BRD proved very strong in the Masters categories, but performed admirably against much younger competition in the Premier Division.
For all those new members experiencing their first nationals, particularly the Premier members, I hope that you thoroughly enjoyed the experience and will be returning for many more to come.
As we head home, our focus now turns to the next 12 months. Now is a time to build on our success and work even harder to ensure we can continue to compete with the other clubs. Think about what you can do to improve your own performance, and what you can do to bring new members to the club to grow the sport, and continue proud traditions that make BRD so special.
Congratulations to the entire team which travelled to Perth this week for your efforts and dedication. Congratulations also to those BRD members who competed for Qld this week. Some outstanding results were achieved by Qld crews to which you all contributed greatly.
Special thanks once again to Ewen for the tremendous amount of work he has contributed to the Head Coaching role for this campaign. The results are a tribute to your dedication to this role.
Also, thanks again to Norbert for travelling all the way to Perth to act as our Manager. This assistance was vitally important to making the week progress so smoothly for the team. And thanks to Gail who worked tirelessly in an admin role each day when she also had to paddle and drum.
