Another successful nationals campaign for Brisbane River Dragons. BRD fielded teams in Premier and all Masters categories at the 2018 AusChamps held in Kawana in March. Competing against teams from across Australia, BRD has performed very strongly achieving great results across a range of categories. The overall results which included 5 Gold, 2 Silver and 5 Bronze are as follows:
- Sen B Mixed 200
- Sen B Mixed 500
- Sen B Mixed 1km
- Sen B Open 200
- Sen B Women 200.
- Sen B Women 1km

- Prem Mixed 500
- Prem Mixed 2km
- Prem Women 200
- Prem Women 2km.
Special thanks to head coach Maggie Boyce and her coaching team for the preparation of the crews for this event. A thorough training program and attention to technique improvement has paid dividends in spades, and without that, such results cannot be achieved.
MBT, our breast cancer survivor teams also did extremely well at AusChamps and are to be congratulated for their achievements. MBT A won a Silver medal in the 500 metres BCS category, and Gold in the 200 metres. Fantastic effort ladies.
BRD members not only competed at this event, but were integral in the planning, organisation and running of the event. Well done everyone!
After a short break training will commence for the 2018/19 season.
